The CLC World Foundation has further maintained its commitment to the ‘Friends of the Saharawi People of Mijas’ association by joining its campaign of humanitarian aid that will soon depart for the Sahara.

The Foundation has donated more than 400 kilos of non-perishable food. Speaking about the initiative, Hernán Lara, ambassador of the Foundation, said: “We have done this initiative for several years, and although this year we have been slightly impacted by the pandemic, we are still determined to fulfil our objective of getting non-perishable food – which we have been collecting throughout the year – to the Saharawi people.”

For her part, the President of the collective in Mijas, Mari Carmen Cortés,  showed her gratitude to the organisation, along with the Councilor for Citizen Participation of the City Council of Mijas, Tamara Vera, who added: “Although these are difficult times for everyone, for individuals and also for businesses, we would like to thank the CLC World Foundation for supporting this important cause.”

In relation to the situation of the Saharawi people, Cortés stressed: “As an association, we are obliged to continue collecting food, seeing that, although we are going through a crisis, we cannot abandon them.”
